Dewey Mitchell Bio

Dewey Mitchell is a proud third generation real estate professional and co-owner of Capstone Tropical Holdings, Inc. - which is comprised of Prudential Tropical Realty, Capstone Home Mortgage, Capstone Title, and Prudential Commercial Real Estate FL.  A leader of one of the Tampa Bay area's primary real estate firms since 1984, Mitchell maintains an active interest in the marketing of commercial, industrial, and mixed-use properties, with his primary emphasis in the Tampa Bay area.  Mitchell has earned the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the Commercial Real Estate Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.
Mitchell serves on the Board of Directors of Superior Bank, sits on the Board of Trustees for North Bay Hospital, and is the former Chairman of the Tampa Bay Partnership.  Previously, Mitchell has served on the Board of Directors for the Pasco Economic Development Council and was Chairman of the Pasco-Hernando American Heart Walk.  He is past Chairman of the West Pasco Family YMCA Capital Campaign Committee and is a charter officer and past President of the Rotary Club of Seven Springs, which established the Odessa Festival & Rodeo.  Past President of the West Pasco Board of Realtors, Mitchell also served as past President of the Pasco County Committee of 100 and the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce.

Mitchell graduated from the University of Alabama in 1979 with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce & Business Administration/Marketing. While attending the University of Alabama on a football scholarship, he played under the legendary Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. From Coach Bryant, Mitchell gained the integrity and competitiveness that he continues to draw on, even today. Mitchell also excelled in Judo earning 7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals from various national championships and went on to lead the U.S. Olympic Judo Team as Captain in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, California.  Dewey is also active in Generations Christian Church of Tarpon Springs.
